A Bump In The Road

Yesterday we received the pathology report for the lymph nodes that were removed during the surgery, along with the tumor.

Unfortunately it was not good news.  There were 1 or 2 lymph nodes that were cancerous which means two things:

The cancer is now in Stage III, and they will need to start chemotherapy and radiation a lot sooner than planned.  This means that the recovery from last week’s surgery will be a lot longer, because chemo and radiation kill all the cells – including the good kind.

It’s hard to not to be a little upset by this news.  But we are still so grateful for the support, and we know we can get through this together!

One Team, One Fight.
